History Of The Bass 1990 - 2000s

The 1990s saw the popularization of the acoustic bass guitar and extensive use of 5-string electric. This is also a great time period for innovation bass as on-board electronics is rapidly improving. The use of preamplifiers and equalizers in the guitar's on-board system that allowed for a wider range of clean sounds. This also allows for a much-improved, articulate attack came in and slap techniques. This technique has always been widely used in funk and jazz genres, but became more popular in stone, metal, and alternative as proven by its use in such bands as Korn, by Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, by Michael "Flea" Balzary.
