The use of bass efect on stage

The use of bass efect on stage

Every bass player has a different style of music styles, sound choice, and choice of equipment, the equipment they use. Like type amps (head cabinet or combo) and instrumentnya, and including additional paraphernalia, including bass effects.

Each player has a bass style (style) is different, ranging from style to play music, sound choice, and choice of equipment, the equipment they use. Like type amps (head cabinet or combo) and instrumentnya, and including also 'trinkets' other additional effects such as bass.

Bass effects that we know, we usually can find in the shops in Indonesia, many different instruments. From the beginning of the most simple facilities to the most complex.

As one example of simple bass effect is a stomp box, or better known as the effect of the car. The effect of this type in isolation, a sound effects (sound effects), although there is also a 'two-in-one' even 'three-in-one'. Some say that stomp box effects such is more resistant, both in quality and strength of body soundnya. Only possible for the price 'slightly' more expensive than digital effects.

For other types of securities that are the types of digital effects, which this effect to an instrument can bring a variety of character voices. With this effect, the user must be more diligent and patient in tweaking the sound effect for as desired.

There are also bass effects included in the family 'digital', it's just that it was designed to be installed in the rack (rack system). With 1 unit wide and some have 2 units (the term for a rack system) with the thickness (width) for 1 unit of about 4 cm - 5 cm.

And also many effects that have become one with the pre amp, and others.
Setting the Stage Effect

Before I start talking about the effects settings, I want to remind our friends to become more efficient in selecting for the purpose of music. We recommend that before you decide to purchase additional equipment or specific effects, we first must have a picture or design on the composition of our songs will play. With the composition of the new designs we make decisions about what is going to sound like we use, and what effect should we have to get the sound we want. This method is more efficient than if we buy securities without knowing what will we make with this effect. From the experience of some of my friends, many of them simply as 'hungry eyes' purchase additional equipment (mis.effect, etc.) that ultimately was never used until the damaged equipment by itself. This is what we try to avoid, so I always emphasize to put creativity to create a composite, and then supported with equipment that is really necessary.

Return to the current settings for the stage. Actually, this setting process similar to the process of setting for the amps. Complaints often occur where the sound is different (at the time at home and onstage) is more extensive because of the different rooms.

At the moment we try to sound at home or in the studio, spacious rooms may be only a small part of a large concert hall that will be used. And one more thing to remember is that when we get the effects and amp settings at home or in the studio, our distance with the cabinet (speakers) should not be in the hold. The end result should we listen to at a little distance, which is about 5m - 6m. Because the sound does not have to be produced at the time we closed the distance with the same cabinet at the time of our sound a little distance from the cabinet.

From the above it is easy to prove her own with a simple example of the changes caused by distance. Where we can try to play with a distance of about 1m from the cabinet (speaker amps), then back straight up to a distance of about 4m from the cabinet. And if we want to hear more extreme changes, after the retreat of about 4m from the amps trying to shift to the left or right around 1.5 m from the midpoint (the beginning). Where from these tests can we know what level of reverb effects, delay, drive, EQ, and others that we want.

It's good we did a test on a full band practice, which in this case we can detect the possibility of collision frequency with other low frequency instruments. Usually if the frequency of collisions, our bass tone becomes less clear and we can avoid this by fiddling with the EQ (one of them, or the amps EQ EQ effect if the effect is to have the EQ). Because of the changes that we hear the sound on stage.

.
